Professor Jan Schmidt visited our clinic from September 16 to 20, 2025. The visit included consultations for cancer patients and kidney transplant operations. Prof. Jan Schmidt is an internationally renowned surgeon with experience in more than 15,000 complex operations in oncology and translatology. In 2007, he was awarded the title of Honorary Doctor of the Tbilisi State Medical University. Since then, he has been visiting Georgia regularly and making significant contributions to the field's development. A summary of Prof. Schmidt's clinical activities: - Surgery of visceral solid tumors: modern intraoperative techniques for pancreatic cancer (pancreatic carcinoma), liver (hepatocellular carcinoma, metastatic lesion), stomach (carcinoma), small intestine, rectum, peritoneum (carcinomatosis), ovarian cancer (carcinoma) (HIPEC, PIPAC, irreversible electroporation with nano knife); - Kidney and liver transplantation in adults and children; - Minimally invasive surgery; - Vascular surgery.
